The reference picture for this painting came from my in-laws backyard. I just loved the Rose of Sharon flower framed by the tall Hosta blooms with the barn window in the background.
 
This painting is dedicated in memory of Britni Zarin. While working on this painting, Britni, the president of my high school class, passed away suddenly. I thought a lot about her and how unpredictable life can be.
