I took this photograph on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May of 2009 and created it for my college painting class with Daniel Chard. The location is a popular subject of mine: my in-laws house. The buildings in the backyard are of Chester Watson’s Mill (the namesake of Watson’s Mill Road). The towels on the laundry line were originally a sage green but I painted them a maroon color to create a contrast and complement the green of the grass.
