While painting in the studio, I’ve been thinking about something I’d love your feedback on. I take photographs to create my original paintings and to include in my annual calendar that raises money for our local FFA chapters.
It’s my hope that my artwork can help viewers appreciate the overlooked beauty that exists within farming and country living. I share both the photographs I take and my original paintings on social media to accomplish this goal. I’ve noticed some people mistake photographs for paintings and my paintings as photographs, even if I share what medium they are in the caption.
While I am so flattered that my paintings are mistaken for photographs and vice versa, I’m wondering if it is confusing? Do you like seeing both mediums (photography and painting) or do you prefer one over the other? I’d love to hear from you, please leave me a comment!
