I recently completed a pet portrait commission for one of my most loyal monthly workshop participants, Kitty. She requested that I paint her two beloved dogs, Bailey and Chelsea together. The dogs did not live at the same time, but through many reference pictures I was able to create a composition that would illustrate their personalities. I really enjoyed creating this painting and especially loved the colors and textures of Chelsea (dog on the left). Below you can watch the painting progression video.
