Over the last several months, I have implemented a morning routine to help me feel more productive at the beginning of my day. As a wife, mother, and business owner, there are always endless items on my to do list. Starting my day off with completing tasks that routinely need to get done around the house sets me up for a successful day both personally and professionally.
Morning Routine
The first thing I do when I wake up is throw a load of laundry into the washer. By the time I am done my other morning tasks, the washer will be done and I can then transfer it into the dryer. By doing one load every morning, our family a four laundry never piles up. I learned this trick from The Fetching Farmhouse on Instagram and it has been a game changer.
Next, I put all of the clean dishes away and set out any utensils, platters, or containers needed for the day ahead. During the week, I will then pack my children's lunches. Last but certainly not least, I will make sure everyone has a breakfast that will fuel their day.
After breakfast, I like to look at my planner and go over the day ahead as well as what the rest of the week will look like. Using a planner really keeps me focused on both personal and professional tasks to get done. You can see how I like to use my planner in this previous post. Click here to read.
I found that by focusing on these daily tasks first thing in the morning allows me the opportunity to plan the day ahead. It also takes away the guilt of not getting them done! It makes me feel so much more accomplished when these chores are done which then provides more motivation to keep me productive.
